Jimmy John "Big Jim" Provost Sr., 50, of the Jewel Rock Road, Keeseville, passed away Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at his home under the loving care of his family and Hospice of the North Country.
He was born in Plattsburgh, Oct. 30, 1966, the son of Ernest and Nettie (Blake) Provost and Judy Laware "Jude" (Provost).
Jimmy worked for the Clinton County Highway Dept. for many years, prior to his illness.
Jimmy had a love of music, singing, hunting, fishing, and driving his Harley. He loved spending time with his children, "Murf" and "Bugsy", and organizing benefits to help others.
Left to cherish the amazing memories of Jimmy are, his loving wife of 25 years, Becky "Lovie" Provost; children, Amber "Murf" Garlock of Elizabethtown, and Jimmy J. "Bugsy" Provost Jr. of Keeseville; brother, Donnie Lamere and wife Paula of Florida; sister, Cassie Provost; brothers, Bob Laware and companion Sandy O'Neil, Josh and Susan Laware, all of Cadyville; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Timmy Lamere.
A funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. Monday, April 17, 2017 in the Hamilton Funeral Home Chapel, 294 Mannix Road, Peru with Rev. William G. Reamer, officiating. A reception will follow with details to be announced at the funeral.
Donations in his memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
A very special thank you to Jim's sister-in-law, Barbie "Barboo" "Favorite Sister-In-Law" Bartlemus, who was by his side throughout his illness, Barbie's daughter, Natasha Bartlemus, and Jim's daughter best friend, Marlene "Moe" LaRose.
