Jim W. Jarrard


Jim W. Jarrard, of Saranac, N.Y., died at home on May 9, 2019, at age 64. Born in Buffalo, Wyo., he grew up in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, and graduated from Brooklyn Technical High School. After graduation, he moved to the Capital District, where he worked with the Northeastern Regional Information Center; after moving to Plattsburgh with his family to continue his career, Jim became Associate Director of NERIC. Jim, a musician and the grandson of Senator William T. Conklin, was predeceased by his parents, Jack Jarrard and Joyce Doll. He is survived by his wife, Kelly; daughters Kate (Rotterdam) and Sydney (spouse Arthur Frick, Hudson); son, Kaycee (Brooklyn); as well as five siblings, numerous in-laws, many nieces and nephews, and countless others.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, May 14, at Harlemville Cemetery, Harlemville, N.Y., followed by a gathering in the area. For directions, to leave a message of condolence or to check service times please visit www.batesanderson.com

Please accept my sincere condolences that come with this sad news. Jimmy and I, along with a crowd of Bay Ridgers, grew up in Brooklyn. Perhaps we could say we lived to tell the tale. With many experiences to remember him, they make his passing that much harder to accept. Glad we shared them. God bless you, Jim.

I'm so sorry that Jim's path met up with heaven. I'll always be grateful for knowing Jim, such a kind personable, caring man. I'm with you in my heart and wish I could be with you today.
