James D. "Jim" Mastic Jr., 62, of the Peasleeville Road in Peru died Sunday, June 10, 2018 at his home under the loving care of his family and Hospice of the North Country.
He was born in Plattsburgh on Dec. 13, 1955, the son of James and Henriette (Hebert) Mastic Sr.
Jim worked for 20 years at Ward Lumber in Jay, N.Y. before working and retiring from Wyeth Pharmaceuticals in 2010 and returning to get his college degree from CCC. He finally retired a second time from Styrex Pharmaceuticals in November 2017. Jim Owned and Operated several rentals that kept him busy and happy.
He enjoyed working on his properties and building things with his hands. There wasn't much he could not fix. Jim dreamed of fixing his 1972 Chevelle and enjoying true retirement. He enjoyed his weekly adventures with his grandson and looked forward to starting new adventures with his granddaughter. The lessons he has taught us all about kindness, gratitude and grace will be forever in our hearts.
He was a friend to all that knew him and his friends became his family. Jim would do for his friends without hesitation, and in return they would do for him. From birthdays, graduations, weddings and holidays he spent quality time with those close to him. He will always hold close those who stood by him during this battle.
Left to cherish the memory of Jim is his wife, Christol (Rabideau) Mastic (his only regret was they had not met sooner); son and daughter-in-law, Garrett Mastic; grandson, Everett; granddaughter, Mavery Mastic; loving brother, Micheal and Andrea (Christensen) Mastic; Sister, Sheryl; brother-in-law, Robert and Vicki Rabideau; many nieces and nephews, Christopher Mastic, Caydence and Olivia Rabideau, Ian and Darcie Christensen, Eric and Jaime Christensen, Tara (Christensen) and Kelly O'Shields; great nieces and nephews, Liam and Jayden Christensen, Morgan and Ryha Christensen and Lucy Pritchett; and his Mother and Father-in-law, Roy & Sandra Rabideau.
Jim was predeceased by father, James D Mastic Sr.; and loving stepson, Brandon Sorrell.
