Ida Mae Dean, 93, passed away Monday, Dec. 18, 2017, at the Meadowbrook Healthcare Facility in Plattsburgh.
She was born in Plattsburgh on Oct. 12, 1924, the daughter of Effie (Rascoe) and Charles Blanchard.
Ida was a loving wife, beloved mother and aunt, and a true friend with a "keen sense of humor." She enjoyed the time spent with her husband Victor at their home in Port Kent. Victor passed away on Feb. 21, 2016. Ida also enjoyed country music and her friends at the Keene Valley Neighborhood House where she and Victor moved to after leaving their home in Port Kent overlooking Lake Champlain. Besides her husband, Ida was predeceased by her sons, Victor and Kenneth Blanchard and her siblings, Florence, Arthur, Ernest, Hanford, Joseph, Martin and Raymond.
Survivors include her loving canine companion, Pierre; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will take place in the spring in the Cadyville Protestant Cemetery.
