Herman Rascoe, 87, of Route 3, Plattsburgh, passed away Saturday, July 8, 2017 at the Clinton County Nursing Home.
He was born in Plattsburgh on April 29, 1930, the son of Francis and Eileen (Barker) Rascoe.
He married the former Joan Mary Scribner. Herman served in the United States Army. He and his brother owned and operated Rascoe Brothers for many years.
He also worked and retired as an Electrician for New York State Department of Corrections at Clinton Correctional Facility in Dannemora. Aside from the joy of his family he loved hunting, camping, square dancing and holding annual pig roasts.
Survivors include one son, Dominic and Elvie Cadorna Rascoe of Phillipines; three daughters, Teresa Schwartz of Port Kent, JoAnne Petersen of Anchorage, Alaska and Roxanne and David Bova of Plattsburgh; one brother, Kenneth and Wanda Rascoe of Plattsburgh; one brother-in-law, Loren Giguere of Morrisonville; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wife Joan; a son, Bryan; and three sisters, Louise Lala, Genevieve Bigley and Veronica Giguere; and a son-in-law, Todd Petersen.
Calling Hours will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Monday, July 17, 2017 at the R. W. Walker Funeral Home, 69 Court Street, Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday at St. Alexander's Church in Morrisonville. Burial will follow in St. Alexander's Cemetery.
