Helen J. Blaise, 89, of Grove Street, Keeseville, died Friday, Dec. 29, 2017, at Meadowbrook Healthcare in Plattsburgh, with her loving daughter by her side.
She was born in AuSable Chasm, Nov. 15, 1928, the daughter of Philip and Julia (Spooner) LaBounty. Helen was a longtime member of the Catholic Community of Keeseville Altar Rosary Society.
She enjoyed visiting casinos and playing the slots, but she especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Helen will be lovingly remembered as a devoted and caring wife and mother.
Left to cherish the memory of Helen are, her beloved daughter, Judy Blaise; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Rufus and Margaret LaBounty, and Philip Jr. and Mary LaBounty; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Fred, Gail and Bill, Wayne and Maureen, and Elaine; and loyal canine companion, Lucy.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth Blaise; son, Jude Blaise; brother and sister-in-law, Sherman and Beverly LaBounty; and two sisters and one brother-in-law, Marjorie and Robert Hamms, and Patricia Loya.
At Helen's request there will be no public calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday, Jan. 4, 2018, at 11 a.m. at St. John's Church in Keeseville with Rev. Kris C. Lauzon, parish priest, celebrating. Burial will be in the spring in the parish cemetery.
Donations in her memory may be made to the Keeseville Fire Department.
