Harold R. Dominy, 81, of Champlain Park, Cumberland Head, passed away Sunday, Oct. 29, 2017, at the CVPH Medical Center with family by his side. He was born in Plattsburgh, N.Y., on Jan. 5, 1936, the son of Harry and Hazel (Stafford) Dominy. Harold worked as a repairman for Luck's Vending and for Patrick's Vending for forty-seven years.
He was a Charter Member of the Beekmantown Volunteer Fire Department. Harold enjoyed bowling, working with his brothers and nephews on the weekends. In his younger years, he enjoyed fishing.
He was predeceased by his parents; two brothers, Ronald Dominy, Malcolm W. Dominy and two sisters-in-law, Eleanor Dominy and Ida Dominy; two nieces, Lynda Ann Dominy, Laura Dominy and a nephew, Billy Dominy.
Harold is survived by a son, David Dominy and his wife Kristy of West Chazy, a daughter, Jill Prior and her husband Todd of Poultney, Vt.; three brothers, Gerald Dominy and his wife Ruth of Plattsburgh, Russell Dominy of Dannemora, Raymond Dominy of Beekmantown; his grandchildren, Hunter, Skye, Pierce, Logan, Desiray and Nevaeh Dominy, Tim and Nicholas Prior, his wife Joan Dominy of Plattsburgh, his mother-in-law, Pearl Webber of Plattsburgh, several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2017, at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St., Plattsburgh, N.Y.
A funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Wade J. Wood of the First Baptist Church of Plattsburgh officiating.
Interment will be at the East Beekmantown Cemtery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Food Shelf or the Elmore SPCA.
