Harold's Story

Harold J. "Buck" Coolidge Sr., 90, of the Patent Road, Peru, passed away, Saturday, Oct. 21, 2017 at the UVM Health Network, CVPH in Plattsburgh, with his loving family by his side.
Harold was born in Jay, N.Y., May 17, 1927, the son of Henry Sr. and Doris (Brockney) Coolidge. Harold's mother passed away when he was only 6 years old. Following her death, Henry Sr. fell in love with and subsequently married Rose (Pelkey) Coolidge. Rose devoted her life to raising and caring for Harold and his many brothers and sisters.
Harold joined the US Army in December of 1945 and served our country during WWII in Korea until an injury caused him to be honorably discharged in 1947. While recovering from his injuries, Harold saw a young beautiful nurse and instantly fell in love. He soon married that nurse, Louise (Ambriati) Coolidge. Six children and 70 years later they told each other good bye for now...
Harold leaves a large family to cherish his memory, son-in-law, Gregory Lee; daughters, Charlotte Vaughn, Carolyn (Steven) Maicus, Margery (Richard) Mahuta, and Vivian Barrett (Ronald); son, Harold J. Coolidge Jr.(Teresa); four brothers, Fred (Edna), George (Jenny), Ralph (Evelyn), and Martin (Mary); four sisters, Carolyn (Robert) McKee, Violet (Skip) Terry, Lola (Allan) Porter, and Joyce (Larry) Scovell; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents; Harold was predeceased by daughter, Bridget Lee; brother, Henry Coolidge Jr.; and sister, Freida Giguere.
At Harold's request there will be no public calling hours or services. Burial will be in the Peasleeville Cemetery.
