Flora LaPoint-St. Louis, 98, formerly of Truman Avenue, passed away, Thursday, Nov. 30, 2017, at the Meadowbrook Healthcare Facility.
She was born in Churubusco, N.Y., on Oct. 26, 1919, the daughter of Peter and Rose (Richey) LeClair.
Flora married Edward LaPoint in St. Bernard's Church in Lyon Mountain in 1941.
She began working in food service at Camp Jeanne d'Arc and later at Plattsburgh State University, retiring as a Food Service Supervisor after several years. Following the passing of her first husband, Edward, she married Bernard St. Louis in 1984.
Flora was a member of the Catholic Daughters and the Altar and Rosary Society. She enjoyed spending her time cooking, reading, and playing cards with friends and family.
Flora is survived by her children, Dan (Brenda) LaPoint of Plattsburgh, Judy Noreault of Westville, N.Y., Jerri Pulsifer of Plattsburgh, and Elaine Latour of Plattsburgh; two sisters-in-law, Helen LeClair and Dorothy Merrill; nine grandchildren, Winona Noreault, Noelle (Mark) Noreault, Randy Hilliker, Shann (Scott) Harrigan, Cheryl (Todd) Rabideau, Jeannie (Shane) Chatelle, Dina (Sean) LaPoint-Miller, Edward LaPoint, and Lisa LaPoint; 11 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; a special friend, Joyce Connors; and many nieces and nephews.
Flora was predeceased by her first husband, Edward; second husband Bernard; one son, Donald LaPoint; and seven siblings, Estee LeClair, Rose Kette, Dewey LeClair, Amy Colburn, Geraldine LeClair, Eva Furnia, and Wayne LeClair.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2017, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at St. John's Church in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 12 p.m.
Burial will take place at a later date in St. Bernard's Cemetery in Lyon Mountain.
