Evelyn's Story

Evelyn Louise Walton, age 86, of Au Sable Forks, died May 22, 2017, at CVPH Medical Center with her loving family surrounding her.
Born Oct. 6, 1930 in AuSable Forks, she was one of eleven daughters and three sons born to Homer and Madeline Wright. She grew up in Au Sable Forks, N.Y.
She was united in marriage to Chester M. Walton on Nov. 10, 1949. Chester (Bud) predeceased her on February 16, 2010.
In addition to a career in retail, she worked in the food, and beverage industry, but the majority of her time was devoted to being the best momma ever.
She is survived by her children, Faye Martineau (James), Dale Walton (Dale), Bryan Walton (Sheryl), Craig Walton (Melissa), Lisa Smith (Lawrence). She is also survived by six sisters, Roberta Furnia, Laverna Whisher, Maude Kennedy, Mary Whitney, Anne Cross, and Carol Wisher. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson. Her namesake, a great-great-granddaughter, Evelyn Vaughn Walton is expected to be born in June.
She was also predeceased by her loving granddaughter Sarah Vaughn Walton Tromblee; her mother and father; and eight brothers and sisters.
A mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 am on Saturday, May 27, 2017 at Holy Name Church in AuSable Forks, officiated by Father Kris Lauzon. Evelyn will be laid to rest next to her beloved "Bud" in Jay Central Cemetery immediately after the mass. A reception will follow at the American Legion Post 504 in AuSable Forks.
Memorial donations may be made to the AuSable Forks Fire Department, of which several of her grandsons and great-grandsons are members.
In Honor of "Miss Evie" please wear a splash of red, her favorite color.
