Elizabeth "Jane" Sayah, 79, of Forge Street, Altona, N.Y., passed away on Monday, May 15, 2017, at UVHN:CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. She was born in Altona, N.Y., on Feb. 18, 1938, the daughter of Peter and Aletha (Belair) Trudo.
Jane graduated from Altona Central School in Altona, N.Y. She worked as an Account Clerk at Altona Correctional retiring in 2001. Jane married Gerald Sayah at Holy Angels Church in Altona on Oct. 17, 1970. She was a member of the advisory boards at Altona Correctional Faculty, Twin Oaks Senior Housing and the Altona Public Library. Jane was a member of Holy Angels Church and Choir and was very dedicated to her family, community and church.
She was predeceased by her parents, a brother, Armond Trudo and two sisters-in-law, Janifer and Joanne.
Jane is survived by her loving husband, Gerald Sayah, a daughter, Lori Ann Kashorek and her husband Douglas of West Chazy, a grandson, Timothy, two granddaughters, Rachel and Rebekah Kashorek and Madison Beery whom she loved as such, a brother, Carlton Trudo and his wife Elizabeth "Liz" of Altona. Several nieces and nephews also survive her.
Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, May 19, at the Brown Funeral Home in Altona. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 20, at Holy Angels Church in Altona; burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
Donations in Jane's memory may be made to the FitzPatrick Cancer Center in Plattsburgh.
