Elizabeth "Betty" Ann Radojcic [nee Summers, Knott] passed away on Nov. 12, 2017, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on Nov. 18, 1926, in Murphysboro, Ill., and came of age in St. Louis, Mo. A member of the Sigma Alpha Iota musical fraternity, she graduated from the New England Conservatory specializing in French Horn, and went on to receive her Masters degree from the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam, N.Y. She taught instrumental music as the band director at Beekmantown Central School, Beekmantown, N.Y., and was active as a leader and musician throughout local communities in northern New York State. After retirement, she continued her musical activities in her winter home of Northport, Fla.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jovan Radojcic.
She is survived by three children from her first marriage to William C. Knott: Carolyn Summers, Judy Sullivan and William C. Knott III; as well as seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. A fiercely independent woman, she was an inspiration to her family and will be greatly missed.
