Edna Holmes

Edna Holmes of Crown Point, N.Y., and Craddockville, Va., passed away after a brief illness, at the age of 94, on Wednesday, July 31st, at the home of her daughter, Phyllis, in Central Square, N.Y.
Predeceased by all eight older siblings, her husband of 52 years, Douglas, and her son Richard, she is survived by five children, Arlene (Lynn) Williams, Gayle Wimer, Harold Holmes, Phyllis (Philip) Bohm and Helen (Scott Broder) Holmes; her sister-in-law and life long friend, Shirley Hirt; ten grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Edna will be remembered for her love to travel, read, and talk about her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She could always be counted on to tell you what she thought, but in a gentle way.
A Celebration of Her Life will be held Sunday, August 18th at 2 p.m. at the home of Harold Holmes, Craddockville, Va.
Donations may be made to Hospice of CNY or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
