She was born in Plattsburgh on Nov. 17, 1923, the daughter of James and Flora Maine (Coolidge) Laver and was proud to be a descendant of US President Calvin Coolidge.

After Robert died, Doris moved back to Plattsburgh to be closer to her family. Doris was a resident of the Clinton County Nursing Home for over 4 years. The family wishes to thank everyone at Clinton County Nursing Home for the wonderful care she received while she was there. The kindness and compassion that Doris and her family received will never be forgotten.
Doris was an animal lover, always having dogs and cats over the course of her life.
Doris loved living in Squaw Valley, Calif., and surrounded herself with beautiful gardens and landscaping that she and her husband Robert took great pride in.
Doris was a member of the United Methodist Church on Beekman Street when she lived in Plattsburgh. While in California, she was a member of the Mountain Valley Community Church in Squaw Valley where she participated in bible study and she also taught Sunday school.

Doris was a special part of my teenage years. Her daughter Dorothy and I were best friends thru High School and we drove Doris nuts with our shenanigans ☺️ But she still loved us both! She encouraged me to become interested in medicine and gave me nursing magazines to read. I had lifelong careers in medical fields thanks to this special lady. You will be missed 🌺💜🌺
