Doris B. Blow, 86, of Pine Harbour and formerly of Dale Avenue, Plattsburgh, passed away Friday, March 2, 2018, at her home with family by her side and under the care of Hospice of the North Country. She was born in Chazy on Sept. 21, 1931, the daughter of the late Leo and Cora (Baker) Brunelle. Doris attended Chazy Rural Central School. She married Hillard Blow on Dec. 30, 1950, at Sacred Heart Church in Chazy.
Doris was a parishioner of St. Peter's Church, a member of the choir, the Altar Rosary Society, the Liturgy Commission, a Bereavement Minister and a member of the Regina Maria Retreat House Eucharistic Adoration Prayer Group. She was a charter member of the Sweet Adelines and the Champlain Red Hat Society. Doris also volunteered at the Inter Faith Food Shelf.
She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother and survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Steven and Mary Blow of Lowville, N.Y., Gregory Blow and his companion Betty Burl of Plattsburgh, two daughters and sons-in-law, Marsha and Thomas Messier of Colchester, Vt., Susan and John Larche of Beekmantown; her siblings and their spouses, Anita and Lowell Jenkins of Glens Falls, Leo and Lita Brunelle of Chazy; eight grandchildren, Heather, Greg Jr., Travis, Andrew, Tanya, Gabrielle, Edward and Kristi; her great-grandchildren, Gavin, Hailey, Emily, Austin, Jayden, Harley, Isabella, and Benjamin; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Hillard Blow, on March 7, 2014, and a brother-in-law, Lloyd Blow.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, March 6, 2018, from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St. in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 2 p.m. at St. Peter's Church. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Chazy at a later date. Memorial donations may be offered to Hospice of the North Country.
