Donna M. King passed away on May 19, 2017, at Glens Falls Hospital. She was born in Cohoes, N.Y., on Feb. 7, 1950, with her twin sister, Denise. Their closeness was the unique bond that twins share. Donna grew up and lived for many years in Ausable Forks, N.Y., before coming to live with and endear herself to her countless friends at Mountain Lake Services.
Friendship was deeply important to Donna. She shared a beautiful friendship with Barb LeClair and Barb's family that was a source of joy, comfort, and trust. Donna remained close to people in Port Henry and Minerva and her housemates and support providers in Crown Point held a special place in her heart. Donna had a vibrant personality with a great sense of humor. She loved to sing, dance, listen to country music, cook, make crafts projects, volunteer in the community, attend church services, and walk to a nearby waterfall. Her room was her sanctuary and filled with her treasured belongings. Donna endured challenges with a strong spirit and a love of life. She will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her twin sister Denise Blaise (David); her brother John Charles David (Mary Lou Hart); and her half-brother, Kenneth David (Joann). Donna is survived by many nieces and nephews, including, John Charles, Helen, Katherine, Lisa, and Brian. She was predeceased by her uncle, Louis David ("Uncle Mike").
Calling hours are from 11 to 12 on Friday, May 26, 2017 with a funeral service at Noon at Thwaits Zaumetzer Funeral Home in Ausable Forks, N.Y. Burial will be at the Haselton Cemetery in Wilmington, N.Y.
