Donald B. Wray, 85, formerly of Champlain, and more recently of Highland Nursing Home, Inc., in Massena, passed away on Tuesday Jan. 2, 2018, at the Highland Nursing Home, Inc..
He was born in Mooers Forks, March 10, 1932, the son of William and Hazel (Earle) Wray.
He worked for General Motors in Massena as a tool and die maker and UAW comity man, retiring in 1987 after 28 years of service. Donald served as a Town Supervisor for his hometown of Hopkinton. He also was a U.S. Army Veteran. In his early years he worked on the St. Lawrence Seaway and Alcola, both in Massena.
Survivors include his son, Donald B Wray, II. and his wife, Cindy of Parishville; grandchildren, Kimberley and Christopher Connelly of Syracuse and Nathan and Theresa Wray of Parishville; and one great-grandson, Abel Connelly.
In addition to his parents, Donald was predeceased by his wife, Rita H. Wray, Feb. 17, 2017.
At Donald's request, all services will be private. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Coopersville, N.Y., in the spring.
