Donald D. LaPointe

Donald D. LaPointe, 80, of the Ratta Rd., Chazy, passed away peacefully Friday, Jan. 18, 2019, surrounded by his family. He was born in Chazy on Jan. 8, 1939, the son of David and Irene (Poissant) LaPointe Sr.
Donald started his adult life in the Navy where he served from 1956 to 1958. He retired after many years as a building Maintenance Engineer for Verizon in Plattsburgh.
In his spare time, Donald enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a devoted father and grandfather attending many ceremonies, celebrating accomplishments, and making sure to participate in all of the family celebrations. He would spend his days joining his friends for breakfast covering the events of the day and playing golf with his many friends.
Donald is survived by his daughters, Debbie (LaPointe) and her husband Mike Fay (LaPointe) and her husband Art; grandchildren, Ryan, Sarah, Abby and Caleb; brothers, Ronald LaPointe of Chazy, Danny and wife Sandra LaPointe of Chazy; two sisters, Lillian Reynolds of Peru, Carol and husband Bruce Dragon of Martinez, Ga.; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, and brother David LaPointe Jr.
Calling hours will be Thursday, Jan. 24, 2019, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. with a funeral service to follow at 12 p.m. at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home.
