Diane's Story

Text size

Diane O'Connor (Barber), 72, of Ticonderoga, N.Y., peacefully passed away on Thursday, July 6, 2017, at Glens Falls Hospital after a decade long battle with cancer.
She was born in Whitehall, N.Y., on Aug. 11, 1944, daughter of the late Helen Barber (Belden) and Thurman Barber.
To say that Diane loved her craft work is an understatement! She lived and breathed crafts, always looking for something new to create.
Diane was an avid gardener who looked forward to her beautiful vegetable garden every summer. She also canned and preserved many of the vegetables that she grew.
If she wasn't playing Michigan rummy with her brother and sister-in-law, she was being a proud Grammie to her beautiful grandchildren.
Diane is survived by her husband, Nicholas of 49 years; her son, Nicholas and daughter-in-law, Randi and her precious grandchildren, Joshua and Katie of New City, N.Y.; her brother, Donald Barber and sister-in-law, Kathy Barber of Crown Point, N.Y. She is further survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Diane is predeceased by her oldest son, Clifford.
Relatives and friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 12, at the Wilcox & Regan Funeral Home, 11 Algonkin St., Ticonderoga.
A Memorial Service will follow at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. Mr. Elliott A. Shaw will officiate.
