David L. Kinter, 58, of Beekmantown, passed away unexpectedly and peacefully on Saturday, April 1, 2017, at his home. He was born in Binghamton, N.Y., on July 8, 1958, the son of Carl and Beverly Kinter.
David had a great love for his country; he entered the military in 1977, served in Desert Storm, and retired from the U.S. Air Force as a TSgt with the closing of the Plattsburgh Air Force Base in 1995.  David was a skilled woodworker, and had a passion for building and restoring several pieces; especially the home he lived in.  He will be missed for his conversations and storytelling with his family and friends. David was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1466 in Beekmantown where he held several positions, including former Post Commander.  His greatest love was for his family, especially his grandchildren.
David is survived by his wife, Suzanne (Rivers) Kinter, their children, Karlie and her husband Travis Baker, Katie Kinter of North Carolina, and Kyle Kinter; his grandchildren, Karson and Alyvia Baker, his mother, Beverly Kinter-Page; his siblings, Carl Kinter and his fiancee Diane, Brad Kinter and his wife Kathleen, and Pattie Kinter, along with many nieces and nephews; his best friends, Bill Holzer and Rory Boire and several other close friends.
He was predeceased by his father, his maternal grandparents, Hector and Mable Hoadley, and paternal grandparents, Ross and Mable Kinter and his close canine friend, Charlie.
Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, April 7, at the Brown Funeral Home, Plattsburgh. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 8, in the Brown Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Windsor, N.Y.
