Daniel Patrick Locklin


Daniel Patrick Locklin, 42, died April 16, 2019, in Burke, Va. He was born on Aug. 10, 1976, in Plattsburgh.
Dan graduated from Beekmantown Central School in 1994. He attended SUNY Oswego and received a degree in communications. He worked at the local television station for two years and then went back to SUNY Plattsburgh and earned a degree in Special Education. He taught for 14 years in Virginia.
Dan loved sports. He enjoyed playing tennis and always supported his home team, the New York Giants. He also supported the New York Yankees and the Washington Nationals.
He loved music, books and movies and was a great collector of all three. During high school and college, Dan worked in several Italian restaurants and he made great pasta and pizza.
Dan also enjoyed history and politics. He loved to take family and friends on tours of Washington, DC and the surrounding areas. He was excited to meet Newt Gingrich at a book signing and Bob Dole while awaiting a group from Plattsburgh on an Honor Flight.
He is survived by his wife Maritza and his daughter Maria Elena, age 2. Dan is also survived by his parents, Laraine and Fred Locklin; a brother, Shaun; a sister, Sharon and their families. He is predeceased by his grandparents and his sister, Jennifer.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Turnpike Wesleyan Church in Plattsburgh on Saturday, May 18th to honor David's life. Calling hours will start at 12:30 with the service at 1 p.m. followed by a light reception in the Fellowship Hall.
