Charles E. Major, 97, died Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2017, at his home on Telegraph Street in Peru. He was born in Wakenda, Mo., on March 27, 1920.
He is survived by his loving family: two daughters, G. Ingrid Bashaw and her husband, Carl Bashaw, Erika Durocher and her husband, Larry Durocher; four grandchildren, Rob Bashaw, Travis Bashaw, Heidi Davey and Kelly Guynup; six great-grandchildren, Wyatt and Caleb Bashaw, Molly and Lauren Davey, and Evan and Allison Guynup; and one sister, Mary Cook of Chico, Calif.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family with burial in St. Augustine's Cemetery in Peru, next to his beloved wife, Gerta.
