Charles C. Hackel Sr., 88, of Truman Avenue in Plattsburgh, died Sunday, June 10, 2018 at the University Hospital in Newark, N.J.
He was born at home, in Queens, N.Y. on April 2, 1930, the son of Charles and Louise (Niederberger) Hackel. Charles served in the Army during the Korean War, being stationed in Germany.
Survivors include his daughter, Cindy Carpenter and her husband David; daughter-in-law, Linda Pearson-Hackel.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday, June 15, 2018 from 2 to 3 PM at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru. A Funeral Service will be held in the Hamilton Funeral Home Chapel at 3 PM with the Rev. Philip T. Allen officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow in St. Augustine's Cemetery, Main St. Peru.
