Y., the daughter of Louis and Maud (Lagoy) Parrotte. She was united in marriage to Donald W. Newell on May 18, 1940 in Our Lady of Victory Church, Plattsburg, N. Y. He preceded her in death Nov. 25, 1995. They were married for 55 years and they were proud operators of their own butcher shop Newell's Meat Market together.
Catherine was an accomplished master of the home arts. For over sixty years, she was a prominent member of the Home Bureau. During this time, Catherine both participated and judged entrants into the Clinton County Fair often winning Best of Show for her work.
Catherine made beautiful custom wedding cakes and often baked brownies and cookies for friends and family. Every year, she donated her time and created handmade mittens, hats, and children's gloves for the Christmas bureau. For many years she cooked school lunches for Morrisonville Elementary.
She is survived by her three children, her son Robert Newell of West Chazy, N.Y.; and her two daughters and sons-in-law, Suzanne and John Kelley of East Lempster, N.H., and Nancy and Robert Bessette of San Juan Capistrano, Calif. She is also survived by her two grandchildren, Kristin and Tracy Bessette. She leaves behind numerous loving relatives and friends.
Her dear friend, Gail Roushia lovingly cared for her the last 25 years of her life. The family gives her and everyone else who cared for Catherine their greatest gratitude and adoration.
The family will receive friends and relatives on Saturday, Jan. 27, 2018 from 10-11am at Brown Funeral Home, Plattsburgh. A service honoring her life will be held from 11am -12pm. Following the service, the family would like to invite friends and relatives to join them in celebrating Catherine at Pizza Palace on Tom Miller Road.
