Carmen Patterson, 85, of Franklin Street, Chateaugay, died Monday, Oct. 9, 2017, at her home surrounded by her loving family and aided by Hospice of the North Country.
Born in Coaticook, Quebec, Canada, on Aug. 8, 1932, she was the daughter of Alcee and Florida (Gagner) Fournier.
Her first marriage was to Arnold Heath on May 14, 1955. He predeceased her in 1980. Her second marriage was to Warren Patterson on Aug. 25, 1984.
Mrs. Patterson was employed as a bookkeeper for Whalen's Western Auto, Brainardsville, for a number of years and as a cook for Thurston Place Restaurant, Chateaugay. She was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church, Chateaugay. She was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society and Chateaugay Bowling League.
She is survived by her husband of 33 years; 12 children, Michael (Pam) Heath, Rena (Ron) Wrisley, Brian (Penny) Heath, Kevin (Donna) Heath, Carl (Sue) Heath, Russell (Jenny) Heath, Jerry (Debbie) Patterson, Bonnie (Dave) Paradise, BG (Sandy) Patterson, Bruce (Jessica) Patterson, Terry (Terri) Patterson, Danford (Angela) Patterson; 28 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; five brothers and sisters, Blandine Dube, Fernand (Patricia) Fournier, Raoul Fournier, Bruno (Alice) Fournier, Richard Fournier; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Dale (Cheryl) Patterson, Johnny Patterson, Pearl LaRock, Linda (Jerry) Collette, Rose (Dick) King, Jen Tavernia, Dorothy (Marvin) Lowell; many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents; two grandchildren, David Paradise Jr. and Stephanie Heath; sisters and brothers, Simonne (Francis) Cotter, Laurent Fournier, Gisele (James) Hood, Gerard Fournier, Germain (Diane) Fournier, Donald Fournier, Conrad (Vonnie) Fournier, Real Fournier and Monique (Kyle) Willey.
Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, October 12, at the Chateaugay Funeral Home.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 13, in St. Patrick's Church with Rev. Thomas Kornmeyer officiating.
Burial will take place at St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery, Constable.
