Bonnie A. Newell, 76, of the Newell Road, Saranac, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2017, with her loving family by her side.
She was born in Plattsburgh, Aug. 3, 1941, the daughter of Francis and Martha (Wood) Crawford.
Bonnie graduated from Salaz Academy and Our Lady of Victory Secretarial School. She was employed at Saranac Central School for many years, retiring as the Superintendent Secretary in 1996. She married Gerald Henry Newell Aug. 8, 1959, at Assumption of Mary Church in Redford.
In her retirement, she enjoyed her camp at Silver Lake spending many happy times with her family and friends. She also enjoyed playing cards, trips to the casino, time with her children and family and the light of her life - her granddaughters.
Left to cherish the memory of Bonnie are, her children, Timothy Newell and wife, Lori, Amy Bouyea and fiance Dan Grimm, and Ted Newell and wife Bobbi; daughter-in-law, Marilyn Newell; grandchildren, Jenny Gladwin and husband Andrew, Courtney Merrihew and husband Jon, Anne Newell, Kelsey Newell, Sarah Parrotte, Emma Newell, Katelyn Dashnaw, Madison Newell, Erica Dupraw, and Cody Dupraw; great-grandchildren, Amelia LaBare and Remie Leavine; her siblings, Kay Oliver, Larrietta Hamel, Albert Liberty, Maxine Carter, Jeffrey Liberty, Mark Liberty, Robert Liberty, and Tammy Liberty; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her son, Leo Todd Newell; stepfather, Francis Liberty; brother, Charles Crawford; and sister, Jean Wilson.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Monday, September 18, at the Church of the Assumption, 78 Clinton Street, Redford, with the Rev. John M. Demo celebrating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
