Aurora's Story

Aurora B. Nichols, 89, formerly of Morrisonville, passed away on Friday, Jan. 19, 2018, at the Meadowbrook Health Care Facility. She was born in Plattsburgh, N.Y., on July 3, 1928, the daughter of Eugene and Therese (Voss) Nichols.
Aurora worked as a library clerk; retiring from SUNY Plattsburgh. She was a faithful Catholic, a member of St. Alexander's Church, and a member of Catholic Daughters of America Court Mary Immaculate Chapter #479. Aurora often could be found completing crossword puzzles or testing her knowledge as an arm-chair Jeopardy contestant. In her earlier years, she was an avid bowler. Her greatest enjoyment was being with her family for gatherings.
She is predeceased by her parents, her siblings, Edgar Guy Nichols, Rose Gagnon, and Evelyn Senator; her nephews, Daniel and Larry Nichols.
She is survived by her 10 nieces and nephews and 20 great-nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Monday, Jan. 22, 2018, from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at St.Alexander's Church. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 11 a.m. Burial will be at a later date in the parish cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Bereavement Committee at St. Alexander's Church.
The family greatly appreciates the loving care of Dr. Brenda Phillips and the staff of 2East at Meadowbrook Health Care Facility.
