Anne Marie Smith Anne Marie Smith, 78, of Plattsburgh, passed away Nov. 15, 2018 at CVPH Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Oneonta, N.Y., on July 1, 1940 the daughter of Norman and Eva (Brouillette) Laramie.
Anne attended Chazy Rural School and later graduated from OLV Secretarial School. She went on to work as a bookkeeper for various firms throughout Plattsburgh for numerous years. She enjoyed tending to her animals and especially loved traveling on long road trips to Maine. Anne was a devout catholic who was a lifelong member of St. Mary's of the Lake Parish on Cumberland Head. Following its closing she became a communicant of St. Peter's Church. Anne also loved to sing and was a member of various choirs and a former member of the Sweet Adelines.
Survivors include her four children, Laurie Sparks of Woodbury, Tenn., Cathie Smith of Plattsburgh, Martha Poland (Bruce) of Morrisonville, and Christopher Smith (Amy) of Pittsfield, Mass.; her former husband, Robert Smith of Plattsburgh; grandchildren, Jeremy Sparks, Alyssa McAlister (Mason), Kyle Smith, Michael LaBarge (Nuchy), Nikki LaBarge, Lorri LaBarge, Christopher Smith, Jr., and Colton Smith. Anne was predeceased by her parents and a sister, Madeline Pombrio.
Calling hours will be from 11-1 p.m. on Monday, Nov., 19th at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will take place at a later date in St. Mary's of the Lake Cemetery on Cumberland Head.
