Anna M. Pope passed peacefully on Feb. 26, 2019.
Anna was born in Konigstetten, Austria, the daughter of Anna (Weibung) and Franz Zuckersdorfer, Aug. 29, 1924. Anna was predeceased by her husband, John W. Pope and brother Franz Zuckersdorfer.
Anna is survived by her son, Franz G. Pope of Peru, N.Y.; her daughter, Anna M. Bloch of Bear, Del.; her grandchildren, Hans Pope, Mark Pope, Joseph Bloch, Franz Pope, Kirsten Pope, Nichole (Bloch) Buehler; her nieces Ani and Avi, Ani's son Franz and his children, many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Friends and Family fondly remember Anna's indomitable strength, brilliance with numbers and puzzles, love of the mountains and woods here in the states and in Osterreich; the time she spent there with her family, feeding the bears and mushroom hunting, her warm laugh, welcoming, loving way and the endless, abundant, amazing meals she prepared that everyone loved.
Funeral services will be held from 2 to 3 p.m. on Monday, Mar. 4, 2019, at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery Chapel, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, Del. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to Delaware Hospice, 16 Polly Drummond Center, Newark, DE 19711.
