I have a an old and very fond childhood memory of my Aunt Alice that I've mentioned throughout my life. Back in the late 60's or early 70's we visited Plattsburgh in the summer as we often did. One summer we stayed at Aunt Alice's. All the cousins played outside for hours until we were famished. Aunt Alice called us in for lunch and she made us grape jelly & peanut butter sandwiches on soft white bread with ice cold milk to drink. It was the best PBJ sandwich ever. Till this day, whenever I crave a grape PBJ, I always say "this is Aunt Alice's doing!" I can hear Aunt Alice's hardy laugh now. Dearest Uncle Roger, Tommy, Lisa & Matthew, my warmest hugs & kisses to you and young'uns.

Dear Tommy, Lisa & Mathew,
I am so sorry to hear about your Mom.
Your mother was so very kind to me.
I will remember visiting all of you at your home near the apple orchard way back when, running free as banshees. I wish my children could have know about that type of wild outside play.
Even during the worst of times your mother always found a way to make some fun for us, even when her back was giving her all kinds of pain. I dont know how she did it, but she did.
I can remember the smell of that orchard and bringing apples home. Even today MacIntosh is the only apple I eat. Everytime I have one, I think of all of you and wonder how you are. Those summers I always remember fondly, and simp some of the best times of my life.
Now a big part of my past is gone and my heart goes out to your whole family.
Your Mom , Roger and Aunt Bernie came down for a visit a while back. I couldnt stay but I got a picture. It was the last one of them together. My Mother cried that day when they said good bye after breakfast. She said she had a feeling she might not see her again. She was right.
With Love and Tears,
Your cousin
