Alfred's Story

Alfred H. Fessette, 91, of the Lake Shore Road, Point Au Roche, passed away Saturday, Aug. 5, 2017, at home, surrounded by his loving family and under the care of Hospice of the North Country.
He was born in Plattsburgh on Jan. 12, 1926, son of the late Sirile and Anna (Gale) Fessette.
Alfred graduated from St. John's Academy in 1943. He married the love of his life, the former Aline Tetrault, at St. Joseph's Church in Coopersville in 1951. Alfred owned and operated Fessette's Farm Inc. for over 73 years and took great pride in his family's farm. He was a parishioner of St. Joseph's Church in West Chazy. Alfred was also a dedicated member of the Beekmantown Volunteer Fire Department for over 45 years and served as Fire Commissioner for 36 of those years. He donated the land in which Fire Station 2 is built on. In 2014, Alfred was recognized with the dedication of Fire Station 2 in his honor. He was also employed by Luck Brothers, driving his own truck for 45 years.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Aline; five sons, Gregory and Ilene Fessette of Point Au Roche, Steve and Jody Fessette of Point Au Roche, Glenn and Donna Fessette of Point Au Roche, Gary and Amy Fessette of Plattsburgh, Allen and Kathleen Fessette of Morrisonville; one daughter, Donna Fessette Graham and her companion William Stathis of Syracuse, N.Y.; 15 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held on from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, August 7, at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at St. Joseph's Church in West Chazy. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
Donations in memory of Alfred may be made to Hospice of the North Country or Beekmantown Fire Department.
