Abigail M. (King) Jackson, 35, of Amsterdam, N.Y., died suddenly in a tragic car accident on Saturday, Oct. 6, 2018, with her husband Adam Jackson, her three sisters, Mary Dyson, Allison King, and Amy Steenburg as well as her brothers-in-law Robert Dyson and Axel Steenburg, and several other friends.
She was born Nov. 11, 1983, in Plattsburgh, N.Y., to Linda and Thomas King. Abby was a graduate of Greater Amsterdam School District and Cortland State University. She received her Master's Degree in Education from Albany University, and became a beloved teacher at Lynch Academy in the Greater Amsterdam School District. Abby enjoyed coaching her daughter Archer's soccer team in Amsterdam, and was a devoted wife to Adam and a loving mother to her precious daughters Archer and Elle.
Abby is survived by her daughters, Archer and Elle Jackson; parents, Linda and Thomas King; two brothers, Christopher (Kerri) Schramm of Massapequa Park, N.Y., Thomas A. (Bethany) King of Fultonville, N.Y.; one sister, Jennifer (Floyd) Guerin of Chazy Lake, N.Y.; her in-laws, Beth and Joe Muldoon, Mark Jackson; sister-in-law, Michelle Jackson, her "GG" Joyce Jackson, her niece, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandparents Adrian and Marie King of Dannemora, N.Y., and Marie and George Janos of Milwaukee, Wis., uncles Rick Janos, Steve King, aunt Betty King, and cousin Gary King.
A Gathering for Family, Friends and The Community will be held on Friday, Oct. 12, 2018, from 3 until 7 p.m. at St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church, 50-52 Cornell Street, Amsterdam, NY 12010. On Saturday, Oct. 13, 2018, at 1 o'clock, a Mass of Christian burial will be offered at the church. All are welcome to attend. Private burial will occur at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Archer and Elle Jackson, and Isaac Dyson for their futures.
